About the meetup

No agenda. Just a regular place where connection happens.

Every Friday for over two years, we have taken over the big table at Fotografiska Café in Tallinn's Telliskivi Creative City. There is barely any promotion. People just keep coming back.

It has no clear goal beyond this: a regular place where connection happens, and where work feels less like work and more like something fun to do. Somewhere along the way, the regulars became friends.

I am at the table every Friday too, laptop open, and always happy to introduce you around.

Three house rules. That is it.

Simple enough to remember on your first visit, kept by everyone who comes back.

01

Come whenever, leave whenever

The table is booked from noon, but it is a café. Join at any time, stay as long as you like.

02

The big table talks together

Listen in, chime in, join the conversation. Private chats, calls and meetings move to another table.

03

No selling, promo or recruiting

By the end of the day we all know what everyone does anyway. There is no need.

Working in good company

Not an office. Not your kitchen table. Something better.

We work in community. Everyone brings their own work, we share one big table, and things get done while the conversation flows. Some Fridays are heads-down and quiet, others are full of ideas and laughter. Most are a bit of both.

Bring something to doYour laptop, your admin, that project you keep postponing. Even if you mostly come to chat, have something on the go.
Share the tableSit wherever there is a seat. The person next to you might become a client, a collaborator or a friend.
Let the conversation flowTalk when you feel like it, tune out when you need to.

Your host

Laura Roman

I work across business, people and ecosystems. I make things move. Originally from Barcelona and in Tallinn since 2018, I started these Fridays to give that energy a regular home, and a big table to gather around.

Good to know

Is it free?

Yes. No membership, no fee. It is a café, so just order something you like. If you want to support it, you can buy the host a hot chocolate.

Why not add me to the WhatsApp group straight away?

The group is for people who show up. Come once, and you get the invite after your first Friday. It keeps the group small, light and useful.

How many people come?

We started in June 2024 and counted for the rest of that year: 27+ Fridays together, 93 people who came at least once, around 12 people at the table each week, and about 3 new faces every week. We stopped counting after that, but people keep coming at a similar rate, with some seasonal ups and downs.

Can I add Fridays to my calendar?

Yes, it is a weekly event, every Friday from 12:00. Add it once and it repeats.

Do I have to stay all afternoon?

Not at all. Come for an hour or stay until closing. The table is booked from noon, so drop in whenever suits you.

What if I need to focus or take a meeting?

The big table is for working in community: we share it and get things done while the conversation flows. For deep focus, calls or meetings, grab another table nearby, and come back whenever you are ready.

Can I just come to chat?

Of course, but bring something to do as well. The magic is working side by side, and the conversation flows best when everyone has something on the go.

Buy the host a hot chocolate

cafecowork is free and always will be. If Fridays make your week better, a hot chocolate helps cover the time it takes to keep it going. Coffee's not my thing, hot chocolate is.
